To say that we at Esquire are fans of Todd Snyder is an understatement. The New York designer knows how to create the kind of things—from polos and jeans to sneakers and so, so much more—that make all of us in the chorus want to sing out loud. I, for one, have two suits of his that I’ve worn in rotation to every swanky event for the last decade, and will continue to do so for the three weddings I have RSVPed to this summer. It is the unexpected details he adds, the *chef’s kiss* fits, the timeless appeal of his wares that have made him a cut above the rest.

It’s no wonder that the man is now celebrating the 10th anniversary of his namesake brand. And he’s commemorating the milestone by dropping a series of choice collaborations that will have you galavanting in style all summer and beyond. The latest on the docket is the MK1 Bootcamp watch, a timepiece created with his long-standing partner, Timex. And like all his past collections with the watchmaker, this one speaks to classic American style.

“I’ve always been inspired by the rugged beauty of watches that were originally developed for American servicemen, but many of them were designed to be ‘non-maintainable’—meaning disposable,” says Snyder in a statement. “I was excited to work with Timex on a ‘maintainable’ version of those vintage timepieces that would look modern and appeal to today’s gentleman.”

The MK1 Bootcamp references the mil-spec W-46374B, a watch in Timex’s archives that was made for jarheads in the early ’80s. The new kid on the block features a sturdy fabric strap in a rustic gold hue (one of The Marine Corps’ four colors) and a domed acrylic crystal. It is also made of aircraft-quality steel, so unlike the original, this watch, as with everything Snyder touches, is meant to last the long haul.

Whether you’re a Snyder devotee, a fan of Marine Corps history, on the market for a really cool timepiece, or, like me, all of the above, the MK1 Bootcamp is the watch to cop. I’ll be pairing mine with my two Snyder suits for the plethora of weddings I’ll be attending.
